Equipment and Apparatus

Station 23, known as the "North Station", houses the following equipment:

Utility 23 is a 1995 Suburban used for beach rescues, Lieutenant's staff vehicle and for general utility duty.

Rescue 23 is a 2002 Horton transport-capable vehicle with full advanced life support (ALS) equipment.

Truck 23 is a refurbished E-One aerial ladder truck with an 85-foot ladder; 1500-gallon-per-minute Hale pump; full hose bed with 850 feet of 5-inch hose, 400 feet of 3-inch hose and 400 feet of 1-3/4-inch hose; 300-gallon water tank; 40-gallon foam tank; Hurst extrication equipment; a 6-man cab and is ALS equipped.

In addtion, the Fire Chief, pictured on the right, and the Operations Commander each drive 2002 Ford Expeditions, which were chosen for their capabilities of driving on sand and through high water and the fact the vehicles are large enough to carry extra equipment when necessary.

Station 22, known as the "Pass-a-Grille Station", is equipped as follows:

Utility 22 is a 2001 Ford that is used for beach rescues, Lieutenant's staff vehicle and for general utility duty.

Engine 22 is a 1997 Pierce Sabre with a 1250-gallon-per-minute pump, 500-gallon water tank, 40--gallon foam tank, and is equipped with a top-mounted pump panel.

Rescue 22 is a 2000 Horton transport-capable vehicle with full advanced life support (ALS) equipment.
