Special Event Permits
Special event are defined and permitted in accordance with Chapter 26, Article II, of the St. Pete Beach code of Ordinances.
The fire department is responsible for administering and
permitting the following events:
- Beach
fire permits:
Beach
fire permits are issued only for fires on the sandy
beach. Pursuant to the Pinellas County ordinance,
no other open burning is allowed. The rules pertaining
to the permitting of beach fires are here.
All
beach fires planned for public beaches under the
jurisdiction of the City of St. Pete Beach must be
approved by the City Manager and/or the City Commission
prior to issuance of a permit. You may use an online application or
you can obtain one at the Fire Marshal's office,
located in Station 23 at 7301 Gulf Boulevard. For

- Temporary
structure permits:
Temporary
structure permits are required for the installation/placement
of grandstands, folding and telescoping seating,
tents, membrane structures, air supported and air
inflated structures. The rules pertaining to temporary
structures are here.
Applications
for temporary structures on public property must
be aproved by the City Manager and/or the City Commission.

- Outdoor
cooking permits:
Special
event outdoor cooking permits are required for all
commercial properties and when city property will
be used. Guidelines pertaining to outdoor cooking
permits are here.
Applications
for outdoor cooking permits on public property must
be aproved by the City Manager and/or the City Commission.

- Fireworks
permits:
Fireworks
displays are special events that require specialty
licenses issued by the State of Florida. No permit
will be issued to anyone not holding a current state
license.
