Public Works Office Building
Expected Completion: August 2007

Project Details: The Public Works Office building, located adjacent to the Police Department is undergoing major renovations. When the renovations are complete, the administrative offices will be located on a new second floor of the garage. The staff currently occupies a trailer in the yard. The renovations will allow for a cleaner appearance from the street while improving the efficiency of work flow. The building is expected to be complete in the late fall.

Master Lift Station
Current Status: Back on Schedule
Expected Completion: Summer 2007

Project Details: The Master Pump station on North Boca Ciega is expected to be complete in the upcoming months. The new facility is capable of pumping 2 1/2 times the sewage currently generated in St. Pete Beach. The $3.6 million project is funded with a $3.3 million Florida Department of Environmental Protection low-interest loan.

Street Paving & Seawall Repairs
Current Status: On-Going

Project Details: The Public Works Department works hard to document sewalls and streets in need of repairs. The city streets and city seawalls are on a routine schedule to be repaved and/or replaced every few years.

Community Center
Completed: July 2007

Project Details: Renovation of existing recreation building and gymnasium, construction of 11,000 square foot two-story community center building, installation of city's first-ever public swimming pool.


Waterfront Park
Completed: Summer 2006

Project Details: Work began on this former Brownfield during the summer of 2005. For over a year construction crews cleaned the site of hazardous material, fixed pervious problems with flood mitigatuin and improved storm water run-off system into Boca Ciega Bay. Thousands of hours of work went into transforming a barren Brownfield into a beautiful community park.
