St. Pete Beach's Public Services Department provides a variety of services required for our community to function. The department is comprised of Streets and Beaches, Utilities and Facilities Maintenance. Included  in the departments responsibilities are the provision of and maintenance, design and planning for roads, bridges, sidewalks, street signs, pavement markings and traffic lights; reclaimed water service; wastewater service; facilities management; environmental programs; solid waste and storm water drainage; parks and recreation. These functions (tasks) provide the quality of life that residents of St. Pete Beach seek.

Our services are provided by 44 dedicated employees who are committed to maintaining high quality standards.

The Public Services Department plays a major role in developing and maintaining the city's streets, sidewalks, beaches and transportation controls.  The Public Services Department also provides engineering and construction services to other city departments. The Utilities division assures the delivery of water, reclaimed water and sewer services to city residents. The Public Services Department oversees the solid waste and recycling contracts.

We are committed to involving the public in our project management process. Public meetings are held to notify local residents about alternative plans, cost estimates, and projected schedules. Stormwater management impacts arise on virtually every project. We are continually striving to take advantages of opportunities and challenges on environmental issues as they arise.

The Public Services Department, perhaps, has the greatest interaction with the members of the community. Therefore, we also have the greatest demand to communicate with the community. To increase our communications infrastructure we have created a Request for Services pages. Please check our Requests for Services web page to contact the Department, report unsafe conditions, or other generalized service requests.

Public safety is a primary concern of the Public Services Department
