Sewer Line Smoke Test Scheduled

Our contractors will begin a sewer line smoke test beginning May 30th, 2023.  This routine, preventative maintenance test will help identify leaks, defects and stormwater inflows in the sewer system, thereby improving wastewater treatment operations and efficiency.

This test will begin on the north end of St. Pete Beach and work south along the island.  The entirety of this test is projected to take approximately two weeks.  Each property connected to the network of piping being tested will be notified about two days prior.

Special Requests

While smoke testing is safe, residents with heart or respiratory conditions may contact USSI at 1-888-645-9570 or 941-926-2646 between the hours of 9am to 4pm to inquire about testing schedules and have a call ahead placed, only if needed.

Below you'll find the image of the door hanger that will be place on the doors prior to testing nearby.

Please call Public Works with any additional questions at (727)363-9243.
